America has to get over racism to win the war against terrorism.
Terrorism we see has no color.
It’s only defined by one thing, radical Islam.
And one belief, ISLAM
The Oklahoma beheading workplace violence, and beheading influenced terrorism.
The death of Brendan Tevlin, Terrorism.
If we’re constantly fighting one another,
We will never realize that God created us equal to be sisters and brothers.
As long as there is a racism
Problem
We will be forever distracted and never be able to defeat the opposition of terrorism.
And as long as Americans regardless of color accept that card, it’s always going to be shuffled.
And there will be times that you’re ruffled.
But the real winner is the one that stays muffled.
And sees the real problem is terrorism.
I remember as I got older my grandmother took all of us grandchildren surrounded us around her table.
And announced to all of us that we were Indian, she had lived with the shame and guilt thinking that we wouldn’t love her after we left that table.
But the real truth was we could identify more with who we were. We could see now why some were light and some were darker. We could now understand why some of us would seek skills and thrills. It was in our Indian blood.
I think grandmother hid her true identity from us because she didn’t want us to face that same persecution. I don’t think it was because she was ashamed of herself. She had faced and walked through persecution’s shoes.
We should all stand proud of our heritage. It’s a part of who we are.
At 2:50 p.m. on April 15, 2013, two explosions went off at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. The brazen terrorist attack killed three people, injured and maimed hundreds more, and shocked the nation. Despite being long recognized as a potential threat by law enforcement and intelligence, few Americans had considered the use of an improvised explosive device (IED) on American soil. And, due to only a few, and relatively small, attacks since 9/11, the public was not in a state of awareness.
Yet, the fact remains that there have been at least 60 Islamist-inspired terrorist plots against the homeland since 9/11, illustrating the continued threat of terrorism against the United States. Fifty-three of these plots were thwarted long before the public was ever in danger, due in large part to the concerted efforts of U.S. law enforcement and intelligence.
The Heritage Foundation has tracked the foiled terrorist plots against the United States since 9/11 in an effort to study the evolving nature of the threat and garner lessons learned. The best way to protect the United States from the continued threat of terrorism is to ensure a strong and capable domestic counterterrorism enterprise—and to understand the continuing nature of the terror threat.
